How do you think environmentalism influences our generation?
"I think environmentalism plays an important role in our generation’s value system. We are more aware of environmental issues and the impacts we have on the environment, and we are more willing to A) vote in favor of environmental policy and B) change our actions to favor sustainability. Generation Z (our generation) is actually the best generation (biased) because of our unique value system. Gen Z's have a tendency to place high values on human rights, social equity, sustainability, experiences and finding/ working for higher purpose over salary. We're so cool!"
How do you think issues pertaining to climate change will inspire youth/college students to become more civically engaged?
"Because of our Gen Z values on human rights and equity, college students are more likely to feel they want to be civically engaged to promote policy change in favor of climate change, especially because they understand the human rights implications associated with climate change. "
What do you think prevents people from changing their lifestyle to being more environmentally sustainable?
"People get trapped in their vibe. They think that the persona they have developed for themselves is that of someone who doesn’t care about the environment. We have to get over the concept of environmentally aware behavior aligning with any type of persona or even political affiliation. Climate change is a human issue not a political issue and so everyone should care."
